Like many surgeries nowadays, hair transplantation is done on an outpatient basis. Optional mild sedation and topical anesthesia are typically used with the surgery which lasts approximately four hours.

Patients must keep the area out of the sun and shampoo as directed.

Unit Hair Transplantation Follicular Extraction (FUE)

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a method of obtaining follicular units from the donor, and implanted directly in their areas of baldness. Instead of requiring an incision line, which is extracted from the donor strip of hair instead of hair follicles was extracted directly from the scalp. By using a tiny punch of 1 mm, the surgeon must carefully cut around each follicle in the natural groupings of 1, 2, 3 and 4 setae.

The incisions are then made bald areas using a micro scalpel or a needle to create receptor sites for these new grafts. The follicular units are transplanted into these microscopic holes that mimic the way hair grows naturally in different directions.

This is called a follicular unit transplantation (FUT). The end result is a view that is completely natural. FUE is a very long and tedious process, so it is recommended for patients who want to fill small bald or thinning areas. Otherwise, require multiple sessions.

Excision Strip Hair Transplant Surgery

Graft surgery of the Strip is the most common and widely used hair restoration procedure. Unlike the WAS, this method is the surgical removal of a strip of scalp tissue from the donor. The strip is about 1 cm in width, so the donor area is sutured back together.

Surgical technicians will dissect strip the scalp of a healthy hair into a hair follicle unit grafts – new compound of 1, 2, 3 and 4 clusters of hair and then implanted into the bald areas using the method of FUT.

This procedure can create high-quality graft surgery, for what is generally recommended for patients with large bald areas at minimal cost.

Scalp Surgery – Reduction and Expansion

Any surgery involving the removal of sections of the scalp is a major surgery and when done correctly can have dramatic and positive results. These surgeries are not for everyone and are unique alternative for carefully selected patients, usually those who suffer from alopecia or male pattern baldness.

They are the original versions of hair replacement surgery, so in the past were often poorly performed, but in fact held by a hair restoration specialist with experience that can produce positive results.

Scalp reduction

It is a hair restoration procedure is one of the most popular to immediately reduce the visible size of bald scalp. This involves the surgical removal of the skin in the balding area, usually at the top of the scalp. The hair-bearing skin is then pulled together from both sides up to replace skin removed. This is then sutured, closing the incision.

Scalp Expansion

Scalp surgery expansion using a balloon-type device (a tissue expander), which is implanted under the scalp and this is gradually inflated, expanding the skin of the donor over a period of 4-12 weeks, resulting in a lot of excess skin of the scalp.

This fabric allows massive cuts to the scalp, in which the flap is used to cover the area of bald scalp excision and suturing. This technique works best for patients with a large bald stop at the top of the head and very thick hair donor.

Like with any surgery, your choice of surgeon is paramount. Ask doctors you are considering about their training and experience. Know where the surgery will be performed in the office or in a surgery center.
